About us

Independent editorial research and structured reviews for retail execution software. Our mission, methodology and how we help CPG buyers choose with confidence.

Our mission

Helping CPG teams find the right retail execution software — not the most marketed one.

At RetailExecutionSoftware.com, we believe software buying should be about you, the buyer. Unlike vendor websites that pitch one product for every use case, or generic directories that list every platform without context, we publish independent research and structured reviews so you can evaluate tools objectively — at the best price and fastest time-to-value.

Why RetailExecutionSoftware.com?

We know that retail execution software is not a "one size fits all" decision. The best platform for a global FMCG enterprise is rarely the best fit for a mid-market CPG brand with ten field reps.

Imagine you are hiring a field sales manager, and we ask you: "What is the best tool to give them?"

You might say "a CRM" or "a route planner" or "shelf-scan AI." But the honest answer depends on what that rep actually does all day. If they spend most of their time fixing planograms and checking share-of-shelf, a heavy CRM will slow them down. If they take orders and need offline capture on rural routes, a pure merchandising app will miss the point. If they cover hundreds of stores and need territory optimisation, a basic checklist tool will cost you hours.

Choose the wrong software and you pay for features you never use, while the ones you desperately need are missing. Think of us as an independent consultant who helps you find the right system for your team — without the sales pitch.

What is the idea behind this site?

The founders of RetailExecutionSoftware.com spent years working with CPG brands, distributors and merchandising agencies. During that time they watched the same pattern repeat itself:

  • A brand would shortlist three platforms based on Google ads or a colleague's recommendation — without matching features to their actual in-store workflow.
  • They would sit through long sales demos, only to discover weeks later that the product could not handle offline capture, weight-scale items, or their specific route structure.
  • In the worst cases, they bought the software, trained their staff, integrated it with their ERP — and then realised it was not right for them. The cost: countless hours and thousands of dollars.

We built RetailExecutionSoftware.com to stop that from happening. By testing platforms hands-on, scoring them against the same rubric, and publishing structured comparisons, we give buyers the context they need to make an objective decision — fast.

How it works

RetailExecutionSoftware.com takes the risk and guesswork out of the software buying process. For a potential buyer, we do most of the legwork for you:

01

Research

We evaluate every platform against a 10-point rubric covering mobile UX, retail audits, shelf compliance, AI recognition, reporting, route management, offline capture, implementation, integrations and pricing transparency.

02

Compare

We publish structured comparisons, category winners and detailed vendor reviews so you can shortlist based on your team's size, workflow and budget — not brand recognition alone.

03

Decide

Use our structured comparisons, detailed reviews and transparent scoring to shortlist and evaluate vendors on your own terms. Our rankings and editorial picks are never influenced by commercial relationships.

What we do

We save software buyers time and money by publishing hands-on research and structured reviews that help them find the products best suited to their needs — at the lowest total cost of ownership.

Hands-on product testing and feature verification
Independent editorial scoring with no vendor pre-review
Transparent methodology published for every ranking
Quarterly pricing and feature re-verification
Verified buyer interviews and public case studies
Structured comparisons by team size and use case

Editorial independence & how we make money

RetailExecutionSoftware.com is editorially independent. Vendors do not pay for inclusion, ratings, awards or placement in our comparison tables. We do not accept gifted premium accounts in exchange for coverage.

We do not broker introductions, negotiate pricing on behalf of buyers, or charge vendors for placement. Revenue comes from display advertising and sponsored content that is clearly labelled. Advertising relationships never influence scoring, rankings or editorial awards. Our category winners and "Best For" picks are chosen by the editorial team on the basis of the rubric alone.
